Do You Like to Travel? The IRS might Not Let you!


The IRS is revoking and denying passports to USA citizens.

The IRS has commenced this year to refer certain cases to the State Department for revocation or renewal application denial of passports. So who does this effect?


Here's What the IRS is Looking For:


1. Tax debt owed of $51,000.00 or more (includes penalty and interest)

2. A notice of Federal Tax Lien or levy must have been issued


This only applies to seriously delinquent debt. The IRS will not refer cases to the State.


Department if the account is in one of the status below :


1. Approved installment agreement

2. Accepted offer in compromise

3. Settlement Agreement with Justice Department

4. A timely filed Collection Due Process Hearing

5. Innocent spouse request made

Furthermore, the following individuals will not be at risk if:

1. Victim of identity theft

2. In active bankruptcy

3. IRS has determined is currently not collectible due to hardship

4. Taxpayer is located within a federally declared disaster area

5. Pending installment agreement or offer in compromise

6. An IRS accepted adjustment that will satisfy the debt in full
